Listen up Y’all

About Us

As Bluffton’s Nano-brewery, our story is all about heart. We think good friendships and great beer go hand in hand. Our hope is that you’ll find both here at your new home away from home.

Meet Dana: the owner of a storm protection company.

Meet Walter: a master brewer.

When Hurricane Matthew hit the Lowcountry in 2016, the two of them met and got on like a house on fire. Walter needed hurricane shutters and Dana needed a beer. Can’t blame him.

The OG lot 9’ers became fast friends and bonded over many yin and yangs. But one in particular: beer brings people together, damn it. Doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, if you love beer you’re in. That’s what we’re about. Bringing people together for the love of great beer made right.

Are you in or what?

Dana Briggs

Master Creator

He can make anything. No, really – anything. Dana’s a welder, fabricator, boiler maker, engineer. You name it, he can make it.

Lucky Guy

He has 5 kids, 3 grandkids, 2 Italian Greyhounds, and 1 amazing wife. Damn, I’m lucky.

Speed Junkie

“If everything seems under control, you’re not going fast enough.”

Music Man

Brace yourself – I can blow a tuba like nobody’s business.

Catch my Wave

Red Neck Rebel, F450, HD, Wave Runner… the list goes on and on.

Don’t let this get out too much but, I am 100% addicted to Amazon Prime. All those boxes on the front porch are for me, not my wife.

Tatted in Thai

My favorite destination is Thailand, and I have a tattoo to show for it.

Swole since day one

Not really. I was a premie at birth, weighing only 4.6 lbs.

I’ve got beer running through my veins. No favorite style or season, just as long as it’s always #maderight.

Walter Trifari

Dead Head

No beer can be mashed without tunes from the Grateful Dead blasting. It’s a must.

Fly Fisherman

Have a newfound love with fly fishing.

Beer Code Geek

Obsessed with finding the code dates on any and every craft brew he tries.

I’ve been with my soulmate for 28 years and counting. With four kids and two dogs, our six-seater golf cart is loud – but full of love.

Master Skier

I was on the snow-ski team in high school and worked at a ski area making the snow and grooming the hills.

Pro from the Start

Though it may come as a shock – I never tried home brewing before I became a professional brewer.

Gypsy Brewer

Doesn’t matter where I am, I can brew the hell outta some beer. If I do say so myself. So far I’ve done it in Connecticut, New York, North Carolina, Delaware, and South Carolina.

Problem Solver

If there’s a problem, I’m going to be the first one to solve it.

Award Winner

Modesty may not be my specialty. I’ve won 30 brewing awards over 23 years. But my most prized accolade was winning a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2012 for my Märzen Octoberfest. Prost!

What does it mean to be a Cicerone Certified Beer Server?

It means that everyone at lot 9 knows exactly what it takes to create a great beer that’s made right – something that goes way beyond the brewing process. Great beer service starts with fundamentals: beer clean glassware, a proper pour, and beer that hasn’t been ruined by improper handling. And in today’s craft brew world, every convo we have with our loyal beer-lovers begins with talk of beer styles and flavors.
